Please help protect biodiversity for future generations by bringing attention to endangered species, and those species still in need of protection, by proclaiming May 18th, 2018 to be "Endangered Species Day."
Why is this important?
The Endangered Species Act, protects fish, plants, and wildlife from extinction. Nearly all voters (90%) recognize the importance of and support the Endangered Species Act.
Endangered Species Day was started by a Senate Resolution in 2006 and has been recognized by cities, schools, parks, and civic organizations around the U.S.
During the last century, decreases in biodiversity have been increasingly observed. Almost all scientists acknowledge that the rate of species loss is greater now than at any time in human history, with extinctions occurring at rates hundreds of times higher than previously recorded.
Please designate May 18th, 2018 as Endangered Species Day to celebrate conservation efforts for imperiled species.
